My Mom used to say that to me when she saw herself making a choice she didn’t love, and she wanted better for me.

And now I’m here to say the same thing to you. 😉

As a founder, I started my business in 2020 when I was “done” with corporate shenanigans. I went out on my own thinking I’d solved the problem - I was creating my own path and no longer following someone else’s definition of success.

Oops. Not so fast, Sarah. 😜

Turns out I was still carrying around plenty of ideas, expectations, and “shoulds” that were definitely not my own.

Digging myself out of that hole was exhausting. And it’s not a one-and-done task. I’m still regularly finding myself pointing towards a goal that isn’t quite mine, and I have to stop myself, reassess, and point in the right direction.
