It's not a cheap camp. Not crazy expensive, but it’s up there. A meaningful investment for her to go to two, possibly four weeks this summer.
But if the camp turns out the way that we hope, she's going to have an amazing time. She's going to meet new friends. And being at Camp away from us will foster a level of independence that we simply can't manufacture at home.
In my opinion, that’s worth more than its weight in gold. So yes, it's a stretch financially. And yes, that means working my a$$ off as a solo founder to make it happen every summer she wants to go.
The real magic of camp though, for me, is that knowing exactly why I'm working this hard motivates me more than just working hard in the abstract ever did. I’ll never be a "hustle for hustle's sake" person. But I’m all in on “hustle so my kid can have an amazing life.”
What’s your “non money” motivation for working your a$$ off?
