Y’all. I just finished a business book, and I can’t decide if I want to recommend it or hurl it at the wall.

Y’all. I just finished a business book, and I can’t decide if I want to recommend it or hurl it at the wall.

The book?
The audiobook "10x Is Easier Than 2x: by Dan Sullivan and Benjamin Hardy.

Yes, I found the concepts interesting and even insightful, and I learned a few mindset shifts I’ll likely implement.

But I soon realized I was already 4 hours into a 10 hour book about entrepreneurs… and they’d only mentioned ONE woman. ☹️

The first chapter focuses on a case study of Linda McKissack, who built a massive real estate business. Amazing - she’s an interesting and powerful example of their “10x” concept.

But seriously, when I can track on less than one one hand all the women mentioned in the book?! Nope. Not ok. 🙅🏼‍♀️

Literally, this is the list:
>> Linda McKissack (case study, chapter 1)
>> Brené Brown (a single quote)
>> Teresa Kitchens (a powerhouse CEO, but included mainly as the person who allowed another leader to 10x his business)

That’s it.
Three women.
In a 10-hour audiobook packed full of case studies, quotes, examples.

The audiobook even includes hours of interviews between the authors.
And in those interview conversations, every single entrepreneur or leader they referenced offhand was… a man.

This book was published in 2022.

How do two men, in 2022, write an entire book about entrepreneurs and act like women barely exist? 🤦‍♀️

And even worse, how did not one of their editors or publishers flag this as an issue?

As I said, I think some of the concepts offer value, but I’m not sure how much I value learning from people with such a myopic view of entrepreneurship. Do they not know at least 40% of all entrepreneurs in the US identify as women?

Let’s balance out this narrative, folks.
Who are the women entrepreneurs you’d want these authors to learn from? Add them below.
