The older I get, the more I hate being a beginner.

When Leah Vernon, my fully moisturized brand strategist (IYKYK), told me we were going to work toward posting five days a week on LinkedIn, I felt like she was asking me to climb Mount Everest. Possible? Maybe. But probably not for me.

That was in December.

What used to take me many hours now gets tighter every week. I have fun writing posts (most of the time 😉) and love responding to y’all’s comments. The dreaded blank page has even started to feel less like a punishment.

But let’s be honest, the older I get, the more uncomfortable I feel being “a beginner” at something. I've worked really hard to get good at what I do. Starting from scratch on anything is not my favorite.

I was not excited to be a beginner, especially in a “public” way on social media.

But I did the thing anyway.
And over time, I got better at it, and the writing got easier.

So today I'm celebrating - I stuck with something that felt hard, even impossible, long enough to actually start enjoying the thing. 🥳

What's something you resisted starting that you're glad you did?
