Me right now: hosting a zoom and hoping my house doesn't burn down. π¬
My 11-year-old loves tiramisu and this morning she got it into her head that she wanted to make it. Today. π
I told her I would be free after 1pm to help her.
After some online recipe research, she said ok, she would only need my help turning on the oven to bake the lady fingers. βοΈ
Fast forward to 11:45am.
I get a text "how do I set the oven to preheat to 350?β π
Now let's be clear, she's not new to the kitchen. She's made a number of things recently, but she's usually quite hesitant to turn on the oven or stovetop.
So... in the interest of leaning into our "summer of independence" π I texted her back some oven tips.
I cracked the office door but didn't go downstairs - and I could hear the clicks as she turned on the oven. π₯
And now... I can hear the mixer going.
Perhaps I'm eating homemade tiramisu later today. π
