“Critiquing vague, jargon-heavy phrasing in a business statement.”
Yikes. Thanks, Claudette.
This weekend, while trying to write some text for an email, I asked Claudette to read a particular paragraph I had written. My prompt was, basically, “how well does this text align with my voice my best practices?”
When Claudette is working, we now get that “this is what I’m thinking about” text that pops up. I don’t always pay close attention to it, but this one caught my eye.
“Critiquing vague, jargon-heavy phrasing in a business statement.”
Welp. I said I wanted feedback. I had a hunch the text was kinda garbage to begin with, so… she’s not wrong. 😂
I was grateful for the editorial slap in the face.
I went back and fixed the writing (and yes, fixed it with my own words, not Claudette 😉).
What a piece of “direct feedback” have you received that you were ultimately grateful for?
