As a kid, I spent just about every summer day at the community pool.

Morning swim team, then swim lessons, then a brief break while they prepped the pool for official opening time, then endless hours swimming and playing with friends.

The most critical decision of the day? I usually had a mom-packed lunch and $1 for a soda and a snack (usually 50 cents each). I had to decide if I wanted two 25 cent snacks or one 50 cent snack.

Andy Capp’s hot fries were definitely a contender.

But did I actually like the hot fries?
Or did I just get them because my friends liked them? 😬

I’m gonna be honest, I was a bigger fan of Cheetos.

If I could go back, I’d tell my younger self to get more Cheetos. Live it up, kid.

How did you spend summer days as a kid?
