I used to only travel when I was taking PTO or traveling for work.
I used to only travel when I was taking PTO or traveling for work.
And now, working remotely (and working for myself), I’ve started experimenting with travel other times of the year.
I’m getting on a plane to go visit a dear friend. I’m going to stay at her house, and her kids are away. 🤩
We’re going to work on the work days, hang out in the evenings and on the weekend. Basically live our lives together and chill for a week, with no kids.
I get to continue doing my work, making money, and spend quality time with a friend. All for the cost of a plane ticket (bought with points 😉). And a few meals I was going to eat anyway.
When I was only traveling on PTO, it felt like every minute of travel had to be “fun” or “relaxing” or both. This is different - I’m basically choosing to live my life in proximity to a dear friend for a little bit.
I don’t feel any pressure to do 75 activities or check things off our bucket lists. We are just there spending quality time together, living our lives. One small travel tweak is allowing us to squeeze one year’s worth of quality time into one week. 😀
What’s a creative way you’ve traveled recently? ✈️
