I shoveled two scoops of snow and decided that was enough.
I shoveled two scoops of snow and decided that was enough.
I had a snow shovel in hand, ready to dig out my car. A group of five high school boys walked by. "Ma'am, do you need help shoveling?"
I said no. I've got this. 💪🏻
I shoveled two scoops. It wasn’t too bad…
Then I looked at the mountain of snow around my car. And I looked at my warm house, where my husband was making dinner and my kid was inside.
Ummmm….
"Actually, yeah. Come dig out my car. I don't want to do this." 😂
They were thrilled to get a gig. I was happy to pay them.
I also sent them to knock on my neighbor's door — the one who hadn't touched their sidewalk all winter. Offered my extra shovel if the neighbor would pay them for the job.
End result:
> My car was dug out
> My neighbor's sidewalk got cleared
> The kids made money
> I spent the evening with my family
Everyone won. Because I stopped insisting I had to be the one holding the shovel. 😉
What's something you recently handed off that you should've delegated way sooner?
