I fixed my writer’s block by talking to myself. 😂
I was talking to a founder the other day about how I love to go on road trips by myself. And when I'm driving alone, I sometimes figure things out in my life or my business by talking to myself. I'll pull out my trusty Google voice recorder and just talk, the way I might talk to a friend on the phone. And I often figure a lot of sh*t out.
Later in the same conversation with that founder, I mentioned that when I’m creating content I sometimes get stuck staring at the blank page. Trying to figure out what to write.
And the founder said, “Well, have you ever tried finding content the way you think through ideas on your road trips?”
And I sat there silent for a moment and then had to laugh.
How did I not think of this?
So. I’m “writing” this post while walking through my neighborhood, enjoying the cooler evening air after the sun has gone down. And it’s delightful.
And of course that conversation made me think about all the different ways that I, and many other founders I know, get stuck doing something in particular way because we’ve just never paused to think about doing it another way.
That's where the value of a good conversation comes in.
The value of someone asking you the question you needed in that moment.
And that’s exactly what Founder Hot Seat is for.
P.S. If thoughtful conversations with a trusted circle of founder peers sounds like something you value, send me a note.
