I find some conversations sooo easy to avoid. 😉😬 Anyone else?
I find some conversations sooo easy to avoid. 😉😬 Anyone else?
I recently had the special pleasure of joining the Customer Success leadership team at Bloomberg Industry Group for their off-site in DC.
Elisha Carsrud invited me to help facilitate part of their day, and I led a workshop on “how to start a tricky conversation".
So often we focus on what exactly we want to say in a conversation, and we skip the critical steps that come before we start talking.
Each person in the room chose a specific conversation they were planning (or avoiding 😉), and I walked them all through a framework to prepare for the conversation.
Some folks prepared work conversations, others prepared personal conversations; everyone walked away with a concrete framework to use for that conversation (and any others in the future).
And what a pleasure it was to work with such a caring and curious team of leaders. Keep your eye on these folks, especially if you're looking for a job soon - I can tell these leaders are committed to empowering and growing their teams. ❤️
What's a conversation you've been avoiding? 😜
