I bought Bugles at the bodega last week and have zero regrets.
I bought Bugles at the bodega last week and have zero regrets.
My kid was hungry and completely overwhelmed by the 400 snack options in front of her (relatable). I spotted Bugles on the shelf and had a full flashback to childhood… sitting by the pool, snacking with friends, so so salty. I haven't seen Bugles in like fifteen years. Maybe more. And my kid has never had them.
"Do you want to try these? I used to eat these by the pool when I was a kid."
She shrugged. Sure.
On the drive home she took a bite and said "Mom, these are really good."
😱
Okay so for context, my kid does not like things I liked when I was a kid. I am old, my childhood is uncool, this is established fact. So her endorsement means they were objectively delicious. 😜
And as much as I was enjoying snacking on my own little corner of nostalgia, it was so much more fun to hear her enjoying them, too.
So yeah, much as I wanted to keep them all to myself (so salty! so crunchy!), I decided to keep sharing.
What's a snack from your childhood that absolutely holds up?
I want to go on a snack nostalgia tour.
