Apparently "if you build it they will come" is not a sales strategy. πŸ˜‚
(Five years into running a business, I'm finally admitting this to myself.)

I know. I KNOW.

The stories I tell myself about sales and salespeople are… unattractive. 😬 Which is wild given that some of my favorite humans have made their careers in sales. But somehow those stories took root anyway.

So I decided to do something about it.

I started listening to Carole Mahoney's book Buyer First this weekend, and within minutes I was hooked. She opens with a hilarious impression of her always-selling Boston realtor grandmother, and I giggled out loud.

I'm now sitting down to do the exercises at the end of chapter one: getting to the bottom of where my early sales stories came from. Will report back.

What book, person, or experience changed your mindset about sales?
